Supporting of Network Rail’s Pandrol-Vortek AWS Renewals project

Hitting site between Battersea Rise and Pouparts Junction, a 4 strong team of Amaro’s finest (not to mention our HSE Manager, Lewis Matthews) visited SW London on Sunday, battling challenging access to continue their support of Network Rail’s Pandrol-Vortek AWS Renewals project.

Working directly for the client’s Southern Works Delivery team, for months now we’ve been replacing end of life AWS Pandrol-Vortok Series 2 powered magnets, collecting the refurbished and upgraded units and reinstalling them back on site, reducing the chance of failures and returning these vital safety systems back to full functionality.

No easy task thanks to the need for wheels free testing (not to mention the huge volume of traffic) a significant amount of pre-planning and third-party integration has been required throughout this job, with our team working tirelessly to guarantee the minimum of disruption to both programme and budget!

And whilst there are a still a few of end-of-life magnets out there, with each upgraded AWS unit installed we’re…

– Boosting system reliability
– Improving passenger safety

Fantastic efforts from both office and site teams as usual… keep up the good work!
