Over a quarter of Amaro workforce trained as Mental Health First Aiders

27.5% of our ENTIRE WORKFORCE are Mental Health First Aiders. That’s over 2.5x more than the Network Rail recommendation, and nearly double our own figure from just a few months ago.

Whilst many firms paid lip service to Mental Health Awareness Week, we put our money where our mouth is, bringing Elite Force Safety in to deliver a full day mental health first aid course at our Maidstone HQ, boosting our MHFAs from 11 to 22 in the process.

Every year, roughly 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem. And whilst both awareness and support have improved massively over recent years, that figure is still 1.5x higher for those working in rail.

That’s why we’ve invested so heavily in MHFA.

By teaching people how to recognise the warning signs of mental ill health, we’re improving their colleagues’ chance of getting the help they need in the most difficult of circumstances.
