About Barry
A time-served electrician and IRSE licensed installer, Barry’s rail journey began as apprentice with Giffen in 1997 before being seconded to Thales as a Site Supervisor, working on their high-profile Jubilee & Northern Line Upgrade (JNUP) Programme.
Following the successful conclusion of that project, Barry rejoined Giffen, this time as Construction Manager, spending the next five years working on E&P 650v power feed upgrades throughout the Anglia region. The following year was spent as OLE Construction Manager, directing the installation of tunnel bonding on the Great Western Electrification Project.
In 2019, he made the leap to Amaro where, in just two short years, he rose from Construction Manager to become the company’s Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities include…
- The day to day running of the company
- Checking SWPs as Responsible Manager
- Assisting project management with Task Briefings and Works Package Plans, transport management and material requests
- Acting as line manager for all site personnel
