With a number of years’ experience in HR, I joined Amaro having never worked in the railway industry. Micky and the team have been super supportive and made me feel included and at home straight away.

About Chris

A highly skilled people manager, particularly adept at carefully navigating sensitive and complex issues, he is CIPD qualified, has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Leadership Practice and a master’s degree in Human Resources Management.

Beginning his career in human resources as an HR Generalist with specialist bathroom retailer, Bathstore, in 2019 he made the move to global banking giant, HSBC, spending almost three years there before joining vehicle salvage specialists, Copart, as an HR Business Partner in 2022.

Joining Amaro in October 2023 and having oversight of the full HR function, his key responsibilities within the organisation include…

  • Employee engagement, including engagement surveys and creating a taskforce aimed at continuous improvement
  • Overseeing the recruitment and selection process, ensuring Amaro attracts the best talent
  • Ensuring Amaro’s policies and procedures comply with legal regulations, including existing and incoming employment rights
  • Supporting managers to monitor employee’s performance and sickness absence
  • Creating, implementing and overseeing an annual appraisal process and supporting managers to carry this out
  • Reviewing employment contracts
  • Overseeing all employee relations from end to end and partnering managers within these processes where necessary
  • Supporting our employee’s development by helping managers map their development needs and wants
  • Creating robust HR processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and maximum value add
