Reedham Sidings Upgrade in Action

Making Reedham sidings safer and smarter, one track upgrade at a time

Things have been moving at pace in Surrey, with serious progress – not to mention some high-profile site visits! – taking place at the now-disused Reedham sidings.

Tasked with the signalling design, installation and testing associated with the sidings’ abandonment, over the past few months we’ve been working alongside Network Rail’s own civils and p-way teams, supporting the removal of:

– 2 sets of points in the Stoats Nest area

– Point controls in the Three Bridges Rail Operating Centre

– Indications and point controls on the local relay room’s technicians’ panel

This last weekend alone, Amaro’s finest successfully completed controlled changeovers in the relay room, carried out essential remedial works, and providing trackside support for NR Works Delivery as they undertook 17 welds of track joints.

And all during a QA and safety inspection from our Engineering & Operations Director, John Waugh… barely a week after welcoming both Liz Baldwin (SID Director at Southern Renewals Enterprise) and Lucy McAuliffe (Route Director at Network Rail) to site!

Soon, thanks to the works being carried out here at Reedham, another end-of-life facility will be removed from the infrastructure, cutting maintenance burdens and costs, improving trackside safety, and enhancing network resilience in the process.
