Hands-On Learning with Amaro Apprentices at Ashford Works

Our apprentices are boosting skills and confidence at Ashford, gaining hands-on experience across real rail projects.

Since the beginning of February, our apprentices have been boosting their skills AND their experience by spending time with Network Rail’s Ashford Works Delivery Unit.

Day after day they’ve been getting stuck into a real mix of activities, from running new cables and clearing routes, to supporting level crossing works and helping with point enhancements. Last week they were hands-on assisting with the installation of a new HW machine and backdrive, learning how to set the machine up correctly, and even working through lock and detection with expert guidance.

This isn’t a job we’re delivering for a client, it’s an investment in our people. The more exposure our apprentices get to different tasks and environments, the more rounded their knowledge becomes, and the stronger they grow in confidence and capability.

A huge thank you to everyone at Ashford DU for going out of your way to support our team. Your time, supervision and encouragement have made a real difference!
