Amaro Tackles Major Signalling Cable Replacement

A coordinated effort by Amaro and client teams ensured the rapid replacement of a critical signalling cable, enhancing safety and reliability for passengers.

It’s been yet another busy week for Amaro on Network Rail’s SPS (Signalling Power Supplies) Kent project, with our team now well into our 4th year on this critical testing and maintenance programme!

After discovering significant damage whilst recovering redundant cabling, they were immediately tasked with replacing a faulty 650v cable just outside a busy station.

No easy task, 9 Amaro operatives and 2 from the client got well and truly stuck in, clearing 320 metres of ballast and dense vegetation before replacing 380 metres of 25mm 2 core FGT cable…

– Pulling it out

– Prepping it

– Terminating it

– Testing it

… and returning it safely back into service, closing out a red triage event for the client, boosting resilience, and improving reliability for passengers.

A top-notch effort from everyone involved!
