Maintaining Power, Growing Talent: Amaro on the Kent SPS Project

On site in Margate, we delivered critical rail maintenance while mentoring the next generation of rail professionals.

It was back to Margate last week, as our team continued their work on Network Rail’s SPS (Signalling Power Supplies) Kent Maintenance Project, now in its 4th year.

Whilst much of the work was the familiar, critical maintenance that’s formed the core of this project since 2022, this particular shift had a couple of other things worth shouting about…

First up, our electrician Reece Angell took the opportunity to deliver a fantastic team briefing and carry out a live line test (LLT), all as part of his COSS mentorship – a great step forward in his development.

Elsewhere on site, fellow electrician Charlie Dyckhoff was walking one of Network Rail’s apprentices through the two clamp earth electrode testing method – part of the hands-on training support we provide to the client’s apprentices throughout this project, and something we’re genuinely proud of.

Two very different moments from the same shift, but both a perfect reflection of what we’re about. Delivering the work, developing our people, and investing in the next generation of rail professionals along the way.
