Amaro hosts impactful Health and Wellbeing Day

No ordinary catch up, more than 100 colleagues, clients and partners descended on Maidstone as part of our drive to boost health and wellbeing standards!

Kicking off at 9am with some seriously impressive business stats from Michael Ewart and Sarah Townsley, the next 7 hours was jam packed full of updates, lessons and workshops, all designed to improve the lives of our team…

– The importance of Amaro’s personal development plans, providing a tailored career roadmap for each and every team member.

– The imminent launch of our ‘Women in Amaro’ initiative, intended to dramatically boost the number of women in Amaro and the industry.

– The wellbeing, physical, and mental healthcare benefits available to our team thanks to our complementary AXA PPP private healthcare package.

– The effects of stress on our minds, bodies, and relationships. How to spot those signs in others, and how to help those who may be impacted.

– The dangers of excessive alcohol consumption, its use as a coping mechanism, and the terrible impact alcohol can have upon workers and their families.

– The importance of sleep, and the science behind it, with tips on fatigue, exercise, nutrition, and more from night shift working programme, Night Club.

– Mindfulness, meditation, breathing techniques and more from Network Rail’s Senior Occupational Health & Wellbeing Specialist, Emily Mayers.

… topped off by a brutally honest, raw, and motivational presentation from Military Cross winner, Brian Wood, covering his role at the Battle of Danny Boy.

WHAT A DAY, only possible thanks to our incredible team, our clients, and our wonderful supply chain!
