Early Shifts, Iconic Views: Amaro at London Bridge

Up at 5:30 on a Sunday, delivering critical rail maintenance with St Paul’s, Cannon Street, and the Shard as our backdrop.

Sunday morning. 05:30 start. London Bridge.

For most people, the capital on a Sunday means a lie-in and a lazy breakfast. For our team, it was another early shift on Network Rail’s Kent SPS Maintenance Project – and honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Four of us out on track at Cannon Street and London Bridge this weekend, carrying out critical testing and maintenance on signalling power infrastructure – now in our fourth consecutive year delivering this contract. We were also joined by HSE Manager Lewis Matthews for a routine safety visit, because no matter how familiar the work becomes, the standards never slip.

There are worse places to spend a Sunday morning, mind you…

To one side, St Paul’s Cathedral, one of the most recognisable buildings on earth. In front of you, the Grade II listed towers of Cannon Street Station. And towering above it all, the Shard – the UK’s tallest building.

Not many offices have a view like that.
